Traditional Irish Button Accordion
Melodeon and Lilting
Bobby started on the concertina but soon changed to the melodeon and accordion. He has a long musical career stretching back to the 1950s and it was no surprise when he received the TG4 Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.
In the late 50s he played with the Kilfenora Céilí Band and then as a professional musician with the Malachy Sweeney Band from County Armagh. He moved to the USA in 1960 and produced his first solo recording in 1962 titled 'Memories of Clare'. He returned to Ireland in 1970 and lives near Burncourt, County Tipperary.
